Analog Versus Digital, Who Will Win?

As engineers we are starting a dilemma: Why digital electronics is considered to be so intense, and why it was taken seriously analog electronics yesterday?
Of course, there is no doubt in our mind that digital was the way to go, but the question still remains: why?
Is it not true that in analogue, you could convey any value, while the digital transmission, it is usually on binary transfer. A transfer means a set of binary zeros and ones. What could be more interesting in that?
For example, the analogue transmission, if I want to convey number 254, I would simply send it as a 3 digits, two and five, and four. But in digital form, in particular binary transfer, it must be 8 digits, ie, 11111110, ie, some of the seven, and then a zero.
I am referring to the binary transfer, in the case of digital, as they are not the same thing. Binary transfer only one type of digital transmission. There can be many others. So there can be trinary, which will transmit zeros, ones and twos. You get the idea.
No binary proved most popular. This is because when you create electronic circuits, you can very easily create a circuit switching, which will have a high voltage, that is, for one, and low-voltage, that is, zero.
This makes digital electronic circuits effective and low prices.
Thus, the return to the original question. Why analogue is not as good as digital? Are we missing something? Lee teachers miss from engineering to teaching us some important part of the deal here? For example, it may be about the economy, not electronics at all?
In our brain muddled with such thoughts, questions and issues that we approached various teachers and gurus. Although they all know that digital is obsolete, there were few who could give us more than the standard party-lines. Of course, there were old-timers who firmly stood for power electronics based on the analog paradigm.
It was the belief in these old-timers, that the real power electronics is the electronics with vacuum tubes, and a whole lot of heat. They told me of the huge factories and industrial facilities, which were conducted on these power electronics.
They pooh-poohed the latest fads shot digital electronics as a hobby, which is not worth more than make doorbells or children projects. Perhaps that is all that they have suffered for the sake of digital electronics.
Now that two decades have passed, we have responded to many of our questions early, but we also created a new and tougher questions.
What the hell much intelligence can be transferred with the help of digital electronics is now easy.
