Intel and BMW - computers built cars

During the exhibition “Mir BMW”, held in Munich, Intel Corporation, summarized the impact of information technology on the automotive industry. Leaders of the Group noted the new BMW levels of development of the automotive industry, achieved through the use of technologies Intel. The event took place under the sign 40 - anniversary of the activities of Intel Corporation on the world stage.
The application of information technology plays a pivotal role in ensuring security, calculating the aerodynamic characteristics, reducing time finding new products to market and reducing development costs in all areas of automobile - from design to the family sports race cars.
Intel Corp. and BMW Group are collaborating in the field of information technology since December 2005. Building cooperation, the companies have jointly developed a number of requirements for integrated information and entertainment systems. In XX century, cars have changed the very notion of mobility, but in the XXI century, they were not able to stormy pace of development of information technology.
The transition to open systems has allowed car manufacturers to use an extensive database technologies and the possibility of numerous companies-suppliers, usually outside the traditional sphere of interests of the automotive industry.
